I really like that toolbar. I will have to get it. You will have to write a post on how to get the most out if the SEOBook toolbar.
Thanks, Glad you and your blog are back.

Sire,
Yes we are all close enough together to talk, see each other...Just not so close that we can slap each other. ;-)
Using Skype is the easiest way to send word docs or entire files. Since Brad, Cait, and I all file things differently on our computers, we each get our own "copy" that we can easily get to on
our own machine. I can also send Cait a link to an article that might be useful and she can pick it up when she gets online...We live on Skype.
Hi Mitch! Cait doesn't want to sell burgers and french fries. She works on task with Brad and I both and will be much more rounded in her abilities.
She has also gotten to see our mistakes and won't have to make the same ones.
@Spacetime, I sure could never get things done as well on my own. I am so artistically challenged that none of my sites would have anything but, standard themes and buttons.
Onna! No you can't have Brad... Well, someday's I would give him away but, only until I needed him to do something for me. 8)
I am glad he can help you. We all need people to bounce ideas off of or do task that we just don't get. I would be totally lost without being able to use other peoples brains. ;)

Still, it sounds like you have a great production line going. How about sharing a link to this new site of yours. I know that wasn't the point of the post, but I'm interested to see how it all turned out.

I also see the code errors you sent me at the Guild. I am checking to see if the latest Plug in is the issue.
Somedays just suck. ;)
I hope I have it fixed, otherwise.....I'll cuss and kick the tires some more.

Looks like that 1 plug in may have been my issue. Some of the comments were getting through, it just gave crazy code. Think my plug in needs updated or may just not like this skin.
Thanks for the heads up.
Great interview!
I wish I had my head out of my …. in 1997.
Yes, the Porta John is awesome.
What I really find neat is his pending patent for the removal of Pharmaceuticals from waste.
There are millions of meds in our water supply. These drugs are are given to our families when we hand them a glass of water. We have no way of knowing what kind of Chemical time bomb we are mixing in our bodies.
I don’t have the links at the moment but, not long ago the EPA said the drugs in the water supply were at harmless levels. How would they know?
Who is to say that I want any chemical concoction in my glass or used to grow my vegetables?
Yeah, I won’t go into a rant about Pharma. At least not right now.
I am cheering Mr. Braxton on!

Oh what a loaded post!
I know my self esteem can keep me from posting some things. I am afraid I will mis lead people. I do write allot of How To’s. I have people ask me how to do or set up things & I write them
out. I don’t know as that will ever get me “fame” but, I do have a couple of schools that use my articles for their students. So, I got to be happy with that.
About the “big” bloggers…I’m at a loss for words. I am not even sure how some got where they are. Some write regurgitated crap & people sing their praises as if they created light.
I guess I just am not the “sales” person. I don’t push myself as an expert. I don’t tell people to link to me, digg, or post how great I am. In fact, most people have no idea how many sites I have or what I do.
Now, the healthcare.
I do think they should legalize marijuana. I’ve NEVER seen someone get stoned & kill people. I was a bartender for 13 years, I liked the stoners better than the drunks.
I would love for everyone to get good healthcare BUT, I do not think it should involve the BS that Dr.’s, FDA, & Big Pharma put out.
We are killing the minds of our kids by drugging them rather than dealing with them. The healthcare bill will allow all kids to be mentally health screened. We will see all kids on SSRI drugs. Just this week we had 2 mass shooting by men on SSRI drugs. Most mass shooters are on these same meds.
Under the “Emergency” for H1N1 the government can force vaccination, they can shut down web sites (they already are) that have natural health, they can take children away from families because the parents refuse drug “treatment”….
The people of the USA have become sheeple. We have allowed the Government to use Fear mongering to control us, take our kids, live off our hard earned money… They keep us poor, sick, and afraid.
Now, that I have written a book, I’ll stop before I get rolling.

Brian,
I checked your site. You do have some pages Cached. It looks like the newest cache date was Oct.20.
What was odd - Your post Chasing a Guru Ghost - the acctuall article in NOT cached BUT, the comments on that post are.
Not every post you have has cached comments. But, the ones have commented on lately are. That makes me wonder if it is because I PING most comments that I leave.
Theory #2 - I have Backtype that picks up many comments that I leave. My backtype account is also strung through different pages that pull the RSS. I started string Backtype not long ago.
And all of this could be nothing. It could be that someone else that is commenting on your blogs have done something to help them get picked up.
As for the main part of your site, you may just need to throw a few fresh links at the individual post. Put them somewhere that does get cached regularly (and dofollow) and draw them bad boy bots in. Be sure to put your anchor text and put the link mid paragraph if possible. You can see I do that alot at the Guild when I hook in links I care about.
I'll write a post in the next day about helping everyone in your blog community get found.

Ummm…….NO!
Everyone knows you!
Ok, maybe not EVERYone but, that is there own fault for not paying attention.
What I mean is, most directories are so impersonal. So they only way to get much traffic from them is to work your butt off getting involved with enough good people to give others a chance to “know” you. That is hard on a huge site. heck, I couldn’t even find a place to start.
The other way is if the directory is searchable. Not only by their search buttons but by Google.
That puts you in the problem of making sure what text is picked up by the directory listing is good for the SE’s. (Could just be the post title or the meta description in your RSS). You have no way of going and making it unique if you find you need changes. Most all directories will be posting the same anchor text and exert. So, if you find that sucks, oh well, nothing you can do about it.
Now with BS, BL…IF a search engine does happen to pull up a listing for —-keyphrase in the SERP, the person searching would be sent to say BC where there maybe 10+ post all containing that keyphrase. Who knows which one a searcher will then go to. Or the searcher maybe overwhelmed and just click the back button and go to a more direct site that is not so confusing.
The more singled out your listing is anywhere the better chance you have at getting the click. People don’t want confusion/to many choices.
Do ya get the impression that I am not a fan of directories? At least not for traffic.
Sheryl Loch´s last blog ..How to Find Web Page Cache Date
Hey guys!
Ya know, since I do not have a link on my profile at Blog Catalog – I of course get no traffic.
I do however have my link in a group there for b2evo blogs that has gotten me a couple of hits when I post about a new plug in I’m trying out. But, that group only has a few members. We now know each other and visit blogs without going through the group.
MyBlogLog – may get me a couple of hits IF I just go visit a million people, I get like 3 back. <- Not a good use of time!
I am seeing more hits from the Guild with only a couple of members than I do any directory. Even though the directories have 1,000's of members. I think those visitors actually come by way of the SE's then on to my blog.
Thing is, I can post a reply to a thread in a WAHM forum and get 10+ hits just from my sig line (if the thread is active).
I feel it all comes down to search ability, trust, and conversation.
The people in directories are mostly interested in traffic from you. They have no urge to visit others.
I am not grumpy today –

Dr. Mercola Interviews Barbara Loe Fisher, founder of the National Vaccine Information Center. The CDC's own web site readily admits that since August 30, 2009 they are no longer testing for H1N1. So why an Emergency now? Maybe because the Government wants to take more of your rights? Big Pharma wants more money???
If you saw my comment over at Extreme John’s you will know a bit how I feel about page rank.
I don’t remember when the last Page rank was updated on the toolbars but, we know the rank it shows is OLD. Even when they they update it, it is out dated.
I also know that we have pages that have 0 PR and rank in the top for certain phrases.
I have also been learning that Cache Date is VERY important when building or buying backlinks so, keep that in mind & don’t just rely on Page rank to be your guide.
I do NOT care what anyone’s Alexa rank is. Alexa can be gamed WAAAAY to easy. I just posted that over at the Guild a day or so ago. (I got the Alexa post idea from reading Brian’s thoughts. That was until he started wrapping foil around his head & blocked the signals!)
Ok, I won’t go on a huge rant………Yet!

Brian,
If you use Tweetdeck you can click the avatar, then User, then block & report spam.
If you use the web, you can now click on the persons profile & you will see a Block & Report Spam right there – just click it.
Also if they are in your Followers list, Click the ‘Gear’ for the dropdown & you can Report as Spam.
Now, go block & report all those scums so, Mitch & I can tweet happily without them.

Hi Mitch,
I think I have followed each or those types of people. Some I have soon unfollowed.
I am all for people tweeting however they want. If they want to cuss about each moment of the day that is fine…I just unfollow. That falls under the same as people that are fake. Their tweets are not like them, they just try to impress?
The tinyurl in the profile, irritates me. I just can’t get over someone not wanting you to see their real url.
Guess I better go delete that tweet about the fat people on the train I just sent. Wouldn’t want people to send my boss hate mail.
Oh, I am the boss so, never mind the tweet stays. LOL!

I wish I could convince my friends to read his research. Adopting a higher water consumption would most definitely improve the health of the whole lot.
I have since stepped up my water consumption to include ionized, oxygenated water. I feel even better consuming that water.
It is always good to flush out as many toxins as possible.
Thanks for the reference.

Oh no Brian! We can not think alike!
We could solve all the worlds problems with our brilliant minds and then what would everyone else do? ;)
You never know what will grab someones attention. Or what some people will type into a search. I have seen some crazy key phrases come in. Don't know why they would type that in but, always glad they found me.
Keep thinking like me and you will go far. Not sure in which direction but, far.

Another example, my last post. I changed my first title ‘How The News Can Help Guide Your Niche Sites Part II’ to 'News Related AdSense Site – First Month = One Hundred Dollars' before I published it thinking the later would draw more traffic. A commenter, Klaus from TechPatio, even mentioned the very thing we are talking about.
Titles and subject lines are very important things to concider.

I would suggest that you try running a Google Alert for your name.
The only thing is the Comment would have to get Indexed for Google to find it & alert you.
Also if you have a common name then you may find tons of alerts that have nothing to do with you.
You may also try blacklisting their URL in your spam catcher. That way they at least can’t do that crap on your site again.
If these bumms took the time to just follow the rules thing of how far they would be. They are wasting time placing comments that are deleted & also bringing some really bad ju-ju to
themselves.

Ok, I’m a slacker.
If I hadn’t went over to backtype & saw replies to this post, I would have never known.
I think it’s great that you change for holidays. Halloween & Christmas are my 2 favorites. Changing your theme to fit the occasion shows you have personality.
I would start changing my themes but, that would involve me asking Brad & Cait to design something because neither one of them can just use what ever. They would have to build it from the bottom up & it wouldn’t be ready until next year. LOL!
I also did not know that you all had Halloween way down there. So, I have learned something new today.
The red on black is hard on my eyes but, I lived through it. ;)
